A major mining company in the Bowen Basin region of Queensland, Australia was experiencing process failure that resulted in significant downtime due to mechanical works on-site. The customer asked H-E Parts to provide a solution to prevent further unplanned downtime.

After consultation with the customer, H-E Parts decided the best action to take was to supply a complete D10T nose cone assembly to alleviate the risk of process failure on site. The complete nose cone was bench tested prior to being sent to the customer to guarantee there would be no faults, while also reducing onsite safety risks with change outs while increasing equipment availability. The solution included:

  • Complete nose cone supply in line with the customers time frame
  • Custom transport frame for the customer to use for future service exchange assemblies
  • Supplying all hoses and connections to refit to equipment once onsite
  • A custom-made steel box on the transport frame to hold fittings and connections to prevent them being lost or damaged in transit

The supplied nose cone assembly alleviates maintenance process failures and downtime often associated with rectification work. On large mobile equipment this equates to reduced injury risk to personnel associated with major mechanical works and offers an increased availability of major plant. As a result of the all-inclusive supply service, H-E Parts have been engaging in regular complete nose cones and assemblies for service exchange and repair for the customer.

H-E Parts are able to expedite delivery ensuring the customer minimized machine downtime which in-turn reduced total cost of ownership. By having the work conducted offsite, customers alleviate downtime by having equipment arrive that is ready to plug and play.
